Brief Description:  Flap hinges drilled

So the flap hinges were next and it can be a bit of a rubics cube to get the hinges in the right place without having a pre-drilled hole to line things up. I first set it up with only one half of the hinge connected, but didn't feel comfortable without having the other half on with the hinge pins. The plans say to "pin" the two hinges together to help keep the hinge straight (and bind-free which is important). I am not sure what that means because you can only drill one side at a time?? Oh well, it must mean to somehow have the hinge "together". The problem is - now my clamp clecos won't clamp with the hinge pin channel in the way. I solved that by using big binder clips. With 7 of them, across the span of hinge/spar they held nicely and the bonus was, that there was enough clearance with the binder clip, that the hinge would rotate freely and I could check it for free movement while drilling and clecoing the hinge to the spar.

I am sure it would have worked out just fine the other way too - but this was easy - breezy.
