Brief Description:  start to rivet the left aileron

As everyone was napping or busy with other things, I went out to the shop to get some riveting done on the left aileron. I set a few of the top skin / spar rivets, then placed the rivet gun down on the work bench, reached over to grab another rivet and hooked the air hose line on my arm/elbow and pulled the rivet gun off the work bench....BAM...right on the concrete floor. I wasn't too concerned, seeing as the rivet gun is a robust piece of machinery, but something wasn't good because the rivet gun would burble, but not, "bang"...dang it....

I will have to call Isham at planetools as that is where the rivet gun came from originally... I am really bummed because I have some days off due to the holiday season - I guess I can do other things like start working on the flaps... dang it...

(The following part actually happens tomorrow - but due to space constraints, I put it here)
I called Isham this morning and he said he would be happy to take a look / fix it if I sent it too him. He said it would take about a week with shipping back and forth - and even told me what to do if I wanted to take it apart and look into it. Isham was very nice, and I started to dig into taking the rivet gun apart, but getting the retaining collar off proved to be more difficult for the inexperienced me, so I had an idea... I was thinking about local people that I could reach out to and Bob Avery came to mind. He would know how to fix one and may even have the parts - or else I could buy a new one from him if this one was broken beyond repair.

So I called Bob and he was in the shop. I told him about my crisis and he said to bring it by. I drove out to the store/shop and he took it apart, cleaned it, oiled it, put it back together - and yes-sir-ree, it worked like a charm. He even took his time to explain everything he was doing so that I could learn how to do it myself next time. I tried to pay him for his time but he wouldn't accept it. Thanks Bob - you are a life saver!
