Brief Description:  aileron spar work

After back riveting the stiffeners last night, I needed to bend the aileron skins today. First thing I did was dust off my bending brake from back when I did the elevators and rudder. It's attached to the back side of one of the benches so it was no big deal to move some stuff off the bench and bend the aileron skins. They were tougher to bend than I remember the rudder/elevators being, but came out well.

Next I put the aileron spars, skins, and end ribs together to make sure I had all the parts oriented properly, then I marked them all, with top/bottom, inside/outside, left aileron/right aileron as the case may be. Then I fashioned the A-408 aileron spar reinforcement (4 of them) which is just basically a pre-cut square-ish piece. I lined those up where they go on the spar and match drilled the holes and clecoed while I went.

I also clecoed and drilled the A-406-1 and A-407 brackets to #12...these brackets are what will hold the aileron on to the wing.
