Brief Description: finalize the pitot mast

After being out of town for the Thanksgiving holidays - it was good to get back into the shop - even for a brief build session. I wanted to polish off the remaining duties with the pitot mast and put that to bed. So basically, I set the pitot mast in place, and placed the paper template over the cut out. Then I was able to drill the 2 holes in the skin, then removed the pitot mast to final drill each hole - one at a time, on the work bench. Then I deburred the holes, re-installed the pitot mast, clecoed the freshly drilled holes, and then drilled the last 3 holes in the top of the pitot mast where the spar/pitot mast/skin will be rivetted together. I deburred the 3 holes, deburred the skin holes and countersunk the pitot mast and dimpled the skins...done. Next I will be riveting the leading edge. I did spend another hour or so in the shop cleaning up the accumulated mess, but that wasn't logged.
As mentioned, had a great time with the family in Ruidoso, NM for an extended period. Had to battle a little snow,sleet and ice on the trip out, but was worth it! Spent time wth the wife, son and his girlfriend - along with the extended in-law side of the family,
