Brief Description: cut hole in skin...no really...part 1
I also need to make a hole in the bottom left skin for the pitot tube/angle of attack. I have the SafeAir1 pitot mast, and read the instructions 1,000 times to make sure I understood where the hole goes and the orientation, etc. The only "iffy" part is that the nice pictures on the instructions are for and RV-6, and the sight picture is different for the RV-8. So after quadruple checking where I thought the hole should go, I laid down the tape, marked the spot for the template and drew my outline.
I started with three holes via the unibit, making sure to leave lots of space from the marks. Next I used the nibbler to cut out the aluminum between the holes, Next I loaded up the dremel tool with a multitude of cutting and sanding bits to slowwwwwwlllllyyyyyy make the hole bigger. Eventually, I was down to hand files to sneak up on the final correct hole size
