Brief Description: countersink/primed top of spars + riveted "p" hole
Today I jumped into the countersinking of the spar - which you do so that the spar can accept the dimpled skins. Actually, next on the list is to dimple and close the holes that Van's made for the stall warner, that I'm not using - but I needed a bigger chunk of work instead of a few smaller chunks.. so I went to the spar. The plans say to make a .032" test patch and countersink the holes until they are "just deep enough". The idea being that you don't want to make the hole too deep as the rivet won't hold as strong.
There are about 200 holes on the top side of each spar. I got the top side of both spars countersunk, and then primed. I also was able to countersink the "phantom" holes that reside on the inner half of the spar. They sit under the skin, but do not hold the skin, so they get flush riveted. They do hold the spar to the rib.
