Brief Description:  Top Skin prepping – 3

Tonight I worked on the W703 skin. I had my favorite partner help me flip the wings around on the wing stand so that I could get to the W703. Then I de-blued and deburred the 703. In case you don’t have a photographic memory - The W703 was the skin that “got damaged” when flipping the wings previously. When I received the replacement skin from Vans, I didn’t want to redrill the holes with the skin on the ribs – for fear of enlarging the rib holes. So I just re-drilled the skin holes only with the skin on the bench. I marked the “drilled” holes as I always do on the skin in blue sharpie, but I didn’t happen to drill from the top in so the sharpie marks were on the wrong side of the skin and could mislead me into dimpling the wrong side of the skin…so, I marked in large black sharpie, which side was the top – which you might see on the picture below. Sorry for the long explanation – and that’s all I had time for tonight.
