Brief Description:  riveted outer ribs on right tank

Tonight I used the pneumatic squeezer and riveted all of the upper/lower rivets on both of the outer-most ribs. They came out good and I was happy... then I took the dog for a walk and started milling over in my mind what the next steps would be (like I usually do). DOH! I was thinking about the fuel vent line and realized that because of the bend in the 1st bay that the tubing makes, I would now have trouble installing the vent tube in both tanks with the outer ribs in place.

I was thinking that I might need to cut an extra tooling hole to get the tube in, but a quick call to Van's builder support, and I felt much better. Scott explained how to go thru the usual holes and make the bend by hand after it's in place. It will be a little more difficult now - but not a big deal.

As my Dad use to always say, "Every education costs you something"

Edit : It turned out to be no big deal that I already had the outer ribs installed - the tubing is soft enough that it adjusts to the slight bends. It would still be better and easier to measure the tubing without the innermost rib, but it's definately not a deal breaker if you did it the way I did.
