Brief Description: Riveted T407 rings, drilled filler & drain holes

Tonight I had an MVP night in the shop...major visual progress! I started out with a complete MEK wash of the reinforcement rings and ribs while the rivets and platenuts got to sit in the MEK bath. MEK is the acronym for Methyl Ethyl Ketone - it's an industrial solvent used to clean the metal in preperation for riveting. It removes the aluminum dust that is left from edging/deburring and smoothing the metal - it is flamable and it can be nasty stuff if inhaled or spilled on body parts - so I was all prepped with my safty glasses, respirator, and gloves. With so much prep - it was a non-issue to deal with.
After the parts were cleaned I riveted them together - got the ring, rib and platenuts riveted.
Next, I drilled the tank drain and the tank cap flanges for both tanks. Sounds fairly easy, and it wasn't difficult, but since the holes are not pre-punched, I had to align the parts, clamp them and then drill them. The spacing is a little tricky to get just right but I think they turned out really good!
