Brief Description: drilled tank attach brackets
Today I didn't get a lot done - as a lot of the time was spent in re-work and verification...oh well, progress is progress. I began by measuring and drilling the tank attach brackets along with the T-410 doublers... Measure first, 2" from the front (+ rib flange width), make sure it's parallel to the strengthening divots, clamp it down, mark the freelance drill holes, then drill them to 1/8". All was well - I did the first, then the second...
Well - that's what I thought... the short story is - I numbered the left tank L1 - L7 (inside to outside) and the right tank was numbered R7-R1 (inside to outside) don't ask me why - I really didn't know it until later as the tanks were all taken apart and the ribs were loose. I should have double checked the rib type to make sure, but I didn't.... So I grabbed the "marked" L1 and the R1 and drilled them. Luckily, the marked "L1" and the "R1" are the correct ribs to drill, so I ended up having to switch the marked L7 and R7 and everything worked out great. I even put the tanks back together to make sure everything lines up. It did! Another confirmation of the precision of these pre-punched kits. Thanks Van!
