So tonight I started on the tank stiffeners that go along the bottom of both tanks. These stiffeners start life as all stiffeners do – as long pieces of angle that must be cut and de-vinyled – and then deburred. I got them all cut and de-vinyled and 14 of the 24 are deburred and ready.
My father-in-law stopped over to get a tour of the shop and see the progress – so that was nice of him. Always glad to talk airplanes and building! He made the comment about no cars fitting in the garage, so I thought maybe I should show some pictures so people understand how the shop gets “compressed” every night. Yep, it takes about 2 minutes to switch back from shop to garage so that the wife’s car can fit back in. It works for me!
