Brief Description: Ready the leading edge ribs for right wing – cleco
First I needed to Debur/Flute/Straighten the leading edge ribs for the right wing so I did that, then I fired up the heat gun and de-vinyled the inside of the leading edge skins where the ribs would be sitting. I put the leading edge skins in the handy-dandy cradle and clecoed the ribs to the skins. After finishing the left leading edge, I was able to cleco it to the left wing spar – and I repeated the process for the right wing. By the night’s end, I had both leading edges sitting on top of the spars where they belonged. But I can’t really get to the top spar/skin attach clecos because of the geometry of my wing stand – so I will need to pull the wings back off the stand. I will also have to look at the fit as the right wing looks like it is right on, fit-wise where the skin holes match up with the spar holes - whereas the left wing is “on” at one end but off about a ½ hole width by the time it gets to the other end. Maybe just putting the rivets in will fix this – but I will look into it.
