Brief Description: drilling more conduit holes- re-drilling
Today I finished drilling the 5/8" holes in the other wing. I found it to be better to only drill the 1/8" initial "starter" hole in the pattern rib, and then transfer the 1/8" hole to the new rib. It gives a more precise transfer and then is easier to finish drilling the rib out to 5/8" with the unibit. It does take more clamping and unclamping - but the results are a little better and are easier to replicate.
After drilling the rest of the holes, I deburred the hole and scuffed the ribs in preparation for cleaning/priming. Then, I cleaned all 28 main ribs, rinsed and dried them too. It took a long time and I knew I would need a process - so I went to the 2 person jacuzzi in the master bathroom and turned that into the wash station. After washing them, I would place the newly washed ribs in the shower while the rainforest nozzle would gently rinse them while they waited for me to finish the washing process - then they could be towel dried, before being air dried with the compressed air. Like I said, it took awhile - but it was a pampered "spa day" for the main ribs.
