Brief Description:  Deburring rear spar

Tonight I worked on deburring the holes that were drilled in the doublers and the rear spar… lots of edge work too on the doublers. I need to read ahead and make sure I understand where all of the landmines are with riveting the rear spar doublers to the rear spar – as many of the rivets do not get set until the ribs are installed. There are also dimples that have to be done before the doublers are installed or else the dimpling is more difficult. Just have to make sure I understand the bigger picture that’s all. No more for tonight since there may be hail coming our way and I need to get Teresa’s car back in the shop…I mean garage.

Today was my Dad’s birthday…Happy Birthday Babo! Sure wish you were here to be on this journey with me… Dad was a Mechanical Engineer and was always the smartest man in the world to me. He was a quality control inspector for a big construction company in Houston for most of his carrer...He worked all over the world - from the Alaskan Pipeline to Abu Dhabi. I have one of his old hard hats so I placed it in a promonent position in the shop. It's up high with a clear view of the whole shop. I know my Dad is in a much better place than my shop, but I sure wish he was here - he would have a blast helping with the -8!
