Brief Description:  Bent the rudder - drill/deburr the skin/skeleton

Today I got a lot accomplished! I finally bent the rudder trailing edge! I chickened out and called Jay Pratt and asked if I could watch him do it. He said, "Come on," and within 60 seconds, he had that sucker bent nice and tight! He then said, "Sorry it took so long" He gave me the confidence to do it myself, so when I got home, I put the "brake" (2 x 8 piece of wood) on the back of my workbench. It didn't go right on as I had built the workbench with a lip around the bench - so I had to move the table to be flush with the frame so I could mount the brake. Quickly I had it moved and mounted, and I was ready to do a little bending myself.

The rudder skin was not quite laying on the spar - so I gave it a little bend and got it to within 1/8 inch...looks good to me!

Then I clecoed the skin to the skeleton and match-drilled all the rest of the holes. Deconstructed the entire thing and deburred all the skeleton parts and the skin - including the edges. Tomorrow she'll be ready for dimples and then primer, then construction. Nice!

Looking ahead at the instructions - why do the instructions say to prime and then dimple...hmmm???

Also, Today marks the two-month mark in the build since I started on 10/28/12. I put in 51 hours this month (from 11/28 to 12-27) for a total of 95.25 hours on the project! The average is 47.63 hours in case you are counting. But from now on I am going to go to calendar months to count hours...it's just easier.
