Tonight I continued the work session by beginning the rudder. I starting with 5 long pieces of angled aluminum...that I cut into 16 stiffeners. After cutting them, I marked the slant to cut off so that they will fit the contour of the trailing edge of the rudder. I also smoothed the corners and the edges to remove the 90 degree cuts in the aluminum, because that is where the stress risers hide...then they tend to come out when there are vibrations - like when you go 200 mph... yea, so you got to get rid of the corners. :) I finished up tonight by cleco-ing one side of the stiffeners in.
