Brief Description:  LED experimenting (messing around)

Bob needed to get back to OKC to prep for a class so I was back to solo-work in the shop today. I wanted to further explore the idea of soldering wires to the cut LED strip lighting as Bob and I had experimented with this process over the weekend. After determining that the best way to solder the connecting wire is to do it at the intermittent (about every 12”) solder connection that is already in the light. Testing a few different times, I was able to cut the light at the solder seam, clean up the joint a bit and then heat the solder enough to insert the bare wire in the semi-melted solder. This process makes for a very strong wire connection. I think the solder seam is done on purpose as the regular cut is just too slick to accept a soldered connection. I got to the point where I am confident enough in the connection that I am now considering a double row of white lights to brighten things up in the front cockpit...we will see. Not really anything worth taking a picture of in this messy shop.
