Brief Description:  Wiring the front cockpit lights

With the switches and dimmers in place and the light at least installed – it is time to do the wiring. I transferred my notes/schematic of how to make the lights work with the 2-10 switch and the dimmers into my electrical schematic file and that also helped me conceptualize which wires go where. This is probably easy for many builders out there, but for me, I am an electron newbie and it took me a while to do the little that I did. I had been measuring, cutting and stripping wire, crimping terminal connection and labeling wire for what seemed like a short time – but then I looked up and it was almost 10:30pm! I had been at it for 3 hours and didn’t get all of the wiring done. I did have to drill some bulkhead holes to re-route the LED lights and I also replaced the canopy rail screws on the left side with the fancy stainless screws, but wow, I am slow! I did make some good progress. I was able to get all the front cockpit wiring done except for the positive wires. That’s ok… it’s about the journey! I am trying to make a concerted effort to build the majority of the days – and I am also focused on having 360 hours logged for 2020. I am not getting any younger and I want to order my engine this year. Chop, Chop!
