Brief Description:  Canopy Skirt #8, Do over on left skirt

I wanted to make sure of the fit to the front top skin and need to make sure the transitions from the front skin to the canopy skirts so first I installed that top skin along with the panel to get a true fit. I am still bothered by the fit of the left side aft curve. The general fit is very good on the left skirt but the lines don't match up...

I didn't like where the aft curve was sitting on the fuse and that fix was going to be much more difficult than shifting the entire skirt back 1.5". The aft end will need to be redone and it will take more glass work back there after the change but - that's the way it goes. I "scratched my head" a while on this one, and many test fits before I decided to go for it. I first drilled the canopy handle hole to get a good fit. Then drilled 4 holes in the bottom of the skirt to frame rivet holes and did a check on the aft end. After I had drilled new holes, it makes sense to fill the "old" holes before going forward. I covered the outside of the "old" holes with peel ply and taped them in place. Then mixed a flox/resin/bubble mix and filled the holes using a leftover horse syringe from my pro seal fuel tank days.
