Brief Description:  Baggage door lock - finished

Tonight I finished up the baggage door lock which means that the baggage door is complete for now. After the front top skin is riveted on I will rivet the hinge of the baggage door and it will be done - but that will be much, much later.

I started by the session by squaring off the inner hole of the lock arm with the Dremel tool and the file. Then it was on to the lock rods, clevis pins and safety wire. I clevised and safety wired the first lock pin onto the lock arm and then inserted it. I pushed the other lock pin into the door assembly and then attached the clevis pin into lock arm and pulled the safety wire thru. I shoved the pins and the arm to the left and was able to safety wire the clevis on the right and then slid the pin thru snap bushing. But when it was all installed I realized that the retaining pin on the washer could not be bent up. It needs to be bent up so as to lock the nut in place so that the lock will not loosen up. I backed off the nut, bent the retaining pin up slightly and then tightened the nut and bet the retaining pin all the way up and locked the nut in place.
