Brief Description:  Fuselage lift for proper clearance

While working on the gear fairings, I realized that the whole fuselage would need to be raised, or the wheel fairing jig would not fit under the main tires. I thought I might need to wait for my bride to return, but thinking thru it some more, I determined I could raise the fuse myself.

I surmised that I could tip the fuse back to raise the main wheels and place an additional 2x4 under each tire (with an extra piece of 2x4 attached as a wheel chock). This would allow me to lift the aft portion of the fuselage, lifting the entire fuselage off of the current platform. With the fuse propped up and off the structure, I slid the structure out and put the 2x4 "lift" on top of the prior structure, put the old soft quilt back on, and slid the (now taller) structure back under the fuselage. It worked like a charm!

Initially, the quilt was wrinkled, and the fuselage was not level side-to-side, so I did have to lift the fuse a second time, but after that, it was level. I was then playing around with how high the tail will need to come up to level the fuse front-to-back, but that will have to wait. Later on, I enlisted the help of the VA brain trust again with a discussion with Bob regarding the wheel fairing installation process. Thanks, Bob - I don't know where I would be without my VA brothers!
