I was wondering about the firewall layout and decided to pull out my old firewall from long ago. I have cannibalized it a few times over the years when I need a piece of stainless steel but for what I need to do, this will be a good substitute.
Bob has already engineered a good spot for the oil cooler, and even sent me the pre-bent and drilled mounting angles! so I went back to his log to look at the measurements as a starting point. He did a real good job of tying into the firewall support structure and said his oil cooler support is rock solid. Next, I was moving the mock PC625 battery around to see if one position was better than another...it is, I just don't know what it is yet. The oil cooler has plenty of room around the engine mount without being too far away – very efficient. I like it – Thanks, Bob.
Now to pull out some other firewall appliances and see where they will go.
