In looking at the geometry of the cable route I want to keep the cable away from the tops of the rudder pedals. I don’t want my feet to be touching the cable when I am dancing on the pedals, so I wanted to run the cable forward to the firewall and then across to the area between the pedals and then up to the parking brake valve. I determined that the mount that my buddy Bob fashioned would need a little adjustment to bring the cable in closer to the mount for a more direct route. I removed the riveted angle and drilled out the hole to accept the Adel clamp screw.
With that adjustment made I was happy with the routing and marked the locations of the clamps. I might want one more clamp on the left side as the cable lays on the air vent inlet, but I can add that location in the future. I am ready to make the final cable cut – but decided to make the big cut at the beginning of a shop session, instead of at the end when I am tired.
