Brief Description: Proto panel cut - ergonomic test
Bob sent the proto center panel and the finished side panels back to me and they turned out perfectly! I quickly clecoed them back into the airplane to get a realistic look - and then I checked the 2D cutouts against the holes as I do not have the avionics yet. Still, it looks great!
Finally, I did a test fit on all the items (switches, ELT panel, g-meter, CB’s, etc.) I do have and tested all the switch holes, the warning light holes and the circuit breaker holes. All perfect.
Lastly, I put the panels back in the aircraft, installed the seat and some temporary cushions and tested out the ergonomics of the layout. It felt good to the hand as I went thru the imaginary engine start, taxi and quick flight around the patch. As this was an imaginary flight, I was cleared for a couple of loops and rolls while on downwind!! Oh, and the landing was a greaser, of course! But seriously, I am extremely happy with the design and layout of the panel. Thanks to Bob for the amazing job on the cuts. Now I can send him the "real" panel for final cutting to match what he did on the proto.
