Brief Description:  Remove worm clamps on smoke tank

I had glued the smoke oil pump onto the smoke oil tank and had not installed the air vent line. So, I removed the 4 screws holding the pump onto the tank and installed the vent line and then secured the vent line using the Clamptite double stainless wire method. I then re-installed the 4 screws and the pump was now reaffixed to the tank. Then I started looking at the two ugly worm clamps that I used on the plastic pump fittings. I decided to pull the worm clamps off and secure the hoses to the pump with the Clamptite method. It was a little more difficult with the hoses on the pump and the pump affixed to the tank – but not enough to remove the pump from the tank again. After I had the two plastic hose fittings done – I noticed that all of the fittings were secured with two double loops of stainless wire, except for one oddball fitting…so I took that one off and redid it to the higher standard.:) The single loop method was completely adequate and would have functioned perfectly – but now they all match, so I have that going for me.

I then put the pump back in the fuselage deep well and noticed that the corrugated plastic padding that Marvin glues onto his tank was coming loose and catching at the bottom of the well. It was not allowing the tank to fit in the proper place. So, I pulled the tank/pump back out and found the wife’s glue gun and fixed that issue. Lastly, I set the smoke oil tank/pump back in the deep well…and it dropped right into the proper position.
