Brief Description:  Canopy skirt gap work

After clamping the canopy skirt to the canopy frame during the adhesion stage, the clamping caused unwanted gaps on each side of the canopy skirt...dangit. I had previously been able to use my old modelers heat gun and heat the skirt to shape it a bit. Based on previous experience, I had high hopes of removing the gaps. I started off using the previous method and timing of how long to heat and how long to spray with the compressed air to cool - and that had little to no effect.

I then stepped it up and heated longer and closer - but still blowing the air away from the canopy and making sure that the canopy stayed cool. I worked on the left side first and maybe got it to lay down a bit better. On the right side I wasn't seeing any progress so I tried a method of taping down the skirt to hold it in position while heating and cooling it. I tried a cycle with the canopy held open and used gorilla tape to hold the skirt in an "over-pulled" state while it heated and cooled it. That seemed to have no effect so I tried the speed tape with the canopy closed...that also seemed to have no effect. So, after trying many different options – there was not much improvement made tonight.
