Brief Description:  Wiring discussion with Rob

My buddy Rob is just about done with his non-avionics wiring on his RV-8, so I was lucky enough to spend some text-time with him today, discussing his set up, tips and tricks, how much and what type of stuff to buy and all sorts of good stuff. After dinner, continuing the discussion thru the magic of FaceTime, I got caught up on the visual beauty of his airplane wiring job and it was inspirational to think of being at that point.

"Overwhelmed" is a good word to describe how I feel about the process of wiring the airplane - and it is something that I will just have to work thru. While pounding rivets on the fuse, wings and empennage, I didn't have to think about the day that I would need to start the wiring and all the decisions that come with it. But I am now getting to that point. I have taken the EAA Sportair airplane wiring class (with my other buddy, Bob, a few years ago) and I have recently read Bob Nuckolls book (and will read it again) - but still, I am overwhelmed. I feel like I know what to do on steps 32-900, but it's just the "getting started" that has me overwhelmed...but that is typically how I operate. I over-analyze.

Talking thru things with Rob today was a huge help - and now I just feel "whelmed" (not overwhelmed)... Of course, when I realized that seeing all that Rob has done - does not include the avionics wiring or the firewall forward wiring... well, maybe I am back to being "overwhelmed".

Rob also told me about ordering 24" x 36" prints of the OP-10/OP-11 to make them more readable. Got them ordered and picked up in 1 hour.
