Brief Description:  Sika cosmetic finish - inside

I was thinking this morning that maybe using the paper based frog tape (green) was not the best idea when using the sika activator and primer - so I spent the first part of the shop session tearing off part of yesterday's work and re-taping the canopy and frame with plastic exterior (blue) tape and the gorilla tape (black) which is also a better choice when dealing with chemical etching.

I had already cleaned the surfaces with alcohol and compressed air yesterday so I went right to applying the "aktivator" - waited 10 minutes, applied the primer - waited 30 minutes and then applied the sikaflex 295UV to the gap as a cosmetic layer. This time I used a wetted latex glove for the smoothing and it worked great! Thanks for the tip from Steve in Sherman!

Unfortunately, when I came back a few hours later and started pulling tape on the left side, the sika was set on the outside bit not all the way thru and messed up the beautiful cosmetic finish. I stop pulling tape and I used water and wax paper and tried to save it - we'll see. Pretty bummed about that.
