Brief Description: final canopy skirt fitting - top fit
In my pre-session mental review of what I was planning to work on in the shop today, the idea was to tape off the interior of the canopy frame in preparation for the cosmetic layer of Sikaflex. But, when I got out there and thought further ahead about actually gluing the skirt to the canopy, I noticed that there were a few areas where the canopy skirt doesn't sit flush with the canopy. I was thinking that I could adjust for that during the sika drying phase, but it would be better to fix the fit now than to have to deal with it while the glue is drying.
So, today I did a lot of heat gun and bending the top of the canopy skirt. I started on the left side and got that side finished - the fit is much, much better. I also did a bit on the right side. The parts I worked are much better but there are still about 1/2 the right side to do.
To do's: Need to paint more under bond line… pink is visible. Also need to shave down the top of the skirt on the left side = right probably ok.
