Brief Description:  re-prime/paint interior canopy skirt

We have had high humidity and rain all week and this weekend (today and tomorrow) looks like perfect painting weather. I did one last cleanup of the canopy skirt interior and then I set up the paint area and re-taped the bond area of the skirt. It’s easier doing it a second time, but I really don't recommend it. :)

Since I am running low on the Stewart Systems ecko-poly interior cockpit color - I did a little looking around to see if there was anything else I could paint in this session. The rear rudder pedal brackets and the canopy latch are currently shiny aluminum and are perfect candidates for paint. I took some time to sand and prep them for paint.

I primed the metal parts and the inside of the canopy skirt and then laid the paint down on the inside of the canopy skirt - being careful to mix it with catalyst this time. All went well - after painting, I cleaned up the spray gun and put all the tools, compressor, hoses and cords away.

When I moved the canopy skirt back into the garage and when I did, I accidently scuffed the paint on the right side of the interior canopy skirt against the workbench - and it's right up front so it's going to be visible. (maybe every time I enter the airplane). Too tired to deal with it today - let's see what it looks like tomorrow when the paint is fully dry.
