I worked on smoothing the outside handle then I measured for the screw that holds the outside handle to the inside latch pin. The hole is drilled, the hole is tapped to 8-32 and then the hole is countersunk for the screw.
I also climbed into the cockpit and closed the canopy. While inside, I marked the inside of the canopy skirt at the bottom where it meets the glass. This will be the lower limit of the bond line between the canopy skirt and the glass so I do not want to paint this portion of the skirt.
