I wanted to see what the effect of having the canopy latch engaged would have on the fit of the canopy skirt/canopy. It's not supposed to put a lot of pull on the canopy so a gentle pull / firm set is what is called for. I spent a lot of time looking for the screw that holds the latch on the handle, but I finally found it.
I then put some torque paint on the latch pin and put the assembly together and then marked the latch arm point at the point that it will need to be to latch snuggly. At the end, I started the process of smoothing and shaping the outside handle. It is a machined part with right angles and I will need to smooth those out.
