Brief Description:  Thinking with my hands

If you recall in our last shop episode, I decided that the metal push/pull mechanism would allow me to build/install it in the proper steps so as not to, “paint myself into a corner” with the metal work and fiberglass work. Seems like I had a pretty good grasp on what the next episode was going to be. Well, you ever have one of those days where the reality was worse different than the dream…?
I call this episode, “Thinking with my hands”. I call it that because I worked in the shop almost a full day. Four point six hours is a long time to be on your feet doing trial and error. I didn’t really get much physical progress made, but on the bright side, I did get to the 4th version of the push/pull mechanism …which means that version 4 was superior to the other 3 versions that I envisioned and built - that didn’t work. So that’s a positive…right?

Well…it took longer to get there but here I am. If I was going to the lake, I am not there yet, but I can see the water from here…unless it is just a mirage? I am not sure that v4.0 will be the last version, but I am 4 versions in. To be honest, I am still thinking about just making a non-movable push pull loop (NMPPL) that is perfectly functional – and I have decided that v6.0 WILL be the non-movable push pull loop (NMPPL) so I have a few more iterations before I give up/change my mind and change methods.
