Brief Description:  prep the canopy skirt for another attach

Since this is a learning process I should be increasing my knowledge and getting better at things when I have to repeat steps. That's why the second airplane is always built faster than the first.

I used the grinder and the orbital sander and removed the layers of fiberglass that were used to attach the two halves of the skirts as they are just extra weight and bulk at this point. I am getting pretty good at removing and sanding the excess glass - so I have that going for me.

I taped over the top of the connected skirt halves and left the bottom open for the glass attachment layers. I did four layers of layups - and I will say that my layups are getting better. Fully wetted and scrapped so that there isn't an over-abundance of resin. Progress..

I closed the door to the shop and turned off the light and thought about being back to a 1 piece canopy skirt. That's was good... I checked it a little later and because the temps were a little chillier, the resin was not fully cured yet. But that was ok – because even though I had used less tape than normal to hold the skirts while the resin was drying - the resin would cure soon and the tape was still holding strong... or was it?
