Brief Description: Sanding the canopy skirt inside
Using my brand new, handy-dandy orbital sander that was needed for some dance studio projects, I removed the canopy skirt and sanded the inside surface. The outside surface is the most noticeable and the manufacturer puts the best side outside - as they should. The inside will be seen by the pilot and passenger - but is obscured in some places by the canopy frame. None the less, the parts that are visible should be free of excess glass threads and resin drops - so the inside got a good sanding today.
I also spent some time reinforcing the underside of the canopy skirt. The shop temps were a little chilly so I used the space heater to focus on the aft - underside of the skirt while the layup cured. Then the skirt was re-installed so that it dried while in the proper placement.
