I began work on the rear seat rudder pedal installation...
HINT : If you can install this option during installation, do it!
The rear seat rudder pedals are needed for formation flying, in order to get the FFI formation flying card - so that is why I need them installed. I really wish I would have installed them when I was building the gear towers, do them if you can.
Tonight I got the idler arms installed which is a matter of taking out four bolts in the gear tower and installing 4 bolts...sounds easy, and it is... except that you have to go thru the gear towers at the very bottom corner and remove two bolts and re-install slightly longer bolts. It took me most of the time just to get the bolts in and out reaching in blind and trying to get a wrench on the back side of the nut.
It also took me some time to thin the idler arms a bit so that they fit inside of the mount. You also have to match drill one of the holes in the mounts so I put the mount in position with the one bolt installed, and then put some torque paint on a bolt end and fed it in thru the back to paint where the hole needed to be drilled. I decided to do it this way as there isn’t room to get a drill in to match drill the hole.
