I measured and drilled the mounting holes for the position lights - then installed the mounts and then the position lights. The specs say that the hole for the wires should be 1/2" but I found that wasn't wide enough for the diodes (or whatever they are) to fit - so I opened the hole up to 11/16" and then the wires fit.
The AeroLED position lights also need additional items to be mounted - thanks to Rob for the heads-up and the list of items needed :
6 x AN507 C632R12 screws for position lights 6 x 04-01510 AN 365 nuts for position lights 6 x AN960C6 washers for position lights
