I planned on using the fog-coat, wet-coat method that Stewart Systems specifies - but in actuality, probably just did multiple fog coats. I spoke with Andrew at Stewart and we discussed the multiple fog coats to kind of sneak up on the color saturation point. It was a learning process and I just was in fear of having runs - so I just kept fog coating as the color came up. Probably 5-6 coats in all is what it took.
It took some getting used to, to get into the nooks and crannines of the fuselage but I took my time and did what I thought I should. The other issue was when to stop painting...had to learn alot on this job - one shot to get it right and I believe it will come out good. Some orange peel, but I like the look so far. And, as a bonus, it's penquin - proof!
