As Paul Harvey used to say, "And now you know the rest of the story..." Well, that B-29 happens to be the only flying version of a B-29, it’s owned and flown by the Commemorative Air Force. So, the B-29 I shared airspace with today - was the one and only, “FIFI”. Now, my wife went to high school here in North Texas - as it happens she went to this same high school with another female...ok, no big deal there, I get it...BUT, this person that my wife went to high school with happens to be one of only three women who have ever been qualified to fly the B-29. She flies FIFI and she also flys the C.A.F.’s B-24 (Diamond Lil), which my uncle served on as a navigator. It was just one of those weird coincidences that make you say, "small world”.
