My buddy from Tulsa, Scott, texted that he was in town and was looking to get some shop time in...No problem, I say, always good to have someone else in the shop. It was time to start the post-primer assembly of the horizontal stab. and it had been a while since the rivets had been driven, which was evident...I was off my game. I didn't read the plans ahead of time thinking that I done these steps, and I was actually thinking that it was time to rivet the nose ribs...I was wrong and it was my fault for not reading ahead… Lesson learned.
We ended up having to drill a few rivets out (They were all my bad rivets, not Scott's) because a few clinched over with the squeezer and one that wasn't supposed to be riveted until the rib was installed. We worked until it was time to eat, and then I knocked out the sorting and storing of the rivets from the service bulletin inventory. Scott is here for a few more days so we will work again on Monday night. Thanks Scott. Once again, I failed to get a pic of Scott in the shop, but hopefully I won't forget next time.
