Brief Description:  Seat Floors - Flap bearing blocks

Tonight it was all about the flap bearing blocks - marking and drilling them for the bolt holes after trimming the corners. I trimmed the corners with the band saw after measuring off the drawing instructed amounts.

The trick is that the blocks sit parallel to each other as the flap bar is straight - but the fuselage angle that you drill into has a bow to it towards the aft center. The plans tell you to drill both holes in the center but that can lead to edge distance problems. I followed the advice of Jeff Mitchell's log and drilled the forward holes outward from the center by 2.75 mm. He was in Canada at the time so I used the metric. I will let you know how it works when I pull the rear floors out.

It doesn't sound like 2 hours worth of work, but I did pull the floors out and put them back in a few times to make sure I was lined up properly...and those floors don't go in/out easily.
