I started the mod that allows better access to the back of the panel – via a door thru the forward baggage compartment. I toyed with even doing the mod for quite a while and had decided that I would not do the mod because I am going with the 10.6” Garmin G3X. Figuring that if I remove the 4 screws and pull that screen out, I will have all the access I need to the other items behind the panel… Well, that is true… but options are options…so I decided to go ahead and do the mod. I bought a Grov-Air kit to do the mod but plenty of people just fabricate it up themselves. If I do another one, I will fab it myself.
Tonight, I got to the point where I cut the baggage panel for the door opening. It took a few different segments of time as my Dremel was not fully charged so I would cut for a while and then charge for a while. That and the cutting blade I was using was not the sharpest…but it worked fine, until I broke it.
