Brief Description:  more riveting of F-820-L/R-1 forward side skins

I finished up the rivets I was supposed to drive on the F820's - the rest will have to wait for further steps or will need a second person. There are some rivets along the aft lower side of the F820's that I am still waiting to hear back from Van's on. I mis-read the instructions and put the two blind rivets in when I wasn't supposed to. I asked Van's if I needed to drill them out or leave them as I can't really see why those two rivets would cause a problem. But I would rather hear it from Van's. Those two blind rivets hold the skin and the F804-1-H center section side plate. You actually have to pull the skin and side plate away from the spar, set the blind rivets and then the skin will fit back in place - otherwise the rivets will hit the spar first and can't be set. But just in case Van's tells me to drill them out, I didn't drive the rivets just in front of the spar opening. There were 2 of the 426-3 rivets that I drilled/replaced...none of the 426-4's needed to be replaced.

The other...more major goof was with the rivet gun. See picture #3 for what happens when the gun slides down off the rivet. I got a pit in my stomach when I saw what I had done. I will ask Van's about this one too - but I really believe it is a cosmetic problem that can be fixed with filler and paint in the final stages of the build. That part of the fuselage is heavily fortified with two longerons tied to the steel lower engine mount...but I'll let you know what Van's says.

Followup from Van's support, "You'll have to live with the dent. It won't hurt anything and there's no practical repair." Kinda what I was thinking - hopefully the painter can fill/hide it.
