Applied dye to the step fittings and ran a sharp straight edge against them vertically for a centering mark. Drilled initial holes through the fittings and deep enough to mark the stainless legs for match drilling. The step moved while drilling the short leg in the drill press and ended up with the hole slightly off center. The vise wasn't secured correctly to the press table and I also drilled using a 3/16 bit instead of starting smaller.
