Using the right angle drill attachment I borrowed from Wally, I drilled out the stephole going through the plastic block and step pipe. Gave the steps a rub with scorchbrite pad and then primed. I had a small amount of fuel tank sealant left and decided to smear a layer on the step where it is riveted to the aircraft. I had forgotten how much I hated this sealant stuff, it is a nightmare to work with, so after riveting it was the usual cleanup stuff with acetone on all the tools and clecoes used.
