After getting back into reading plans again, I marked, checked and marked and checked again where the roll bar is situated to go on the fuselage. I drilled my #40 holes and on the 1/4" hole where the back bolt goes I used a dremel to open up the access slightly for my fingers and a bolt on the canopy deck. Clamped the roll bar down in position and back drilled the right hand side first making sure of the 7/32" gap between roll bar base and the outside edge of the skin. Once the right hand side was done I bolted it down and only had to pull/spread the bar slightly to get the same distance on the other side. Back drilled these holes as per the plans. It has a slight twist in the bar (which I'm told is normal) so it will be a matter of making sure the bar is square to the fuselage and shim as required.
