Brief Description:  Removed rudder hinge bracket

Worked to remove the lower half of the upper rudder hinge bracket which I had two bad rivets installed in. Two other rivets were good but decided to remove the bracket and replace since when I tried the rivet removal tool on the first bad rivet the drill bit did not stay center and appeared to start to elongate the hole in the bracket. Decided it would be best to remove the 4 rivets and install a new bracket. Removal of the rivets was a time consuming process as I ended up having to carefully grind the manufactured heads off with a Dermel tool. Once the heads were removed I carefully drilled the remaining rivet a small amount and then was able to drive the rivet out with a pin punch. Rivets came out cleanly with a strong tap or two. Holes looked good and were checked for slop with new rivets and #30 driill. Holes may be just slightly oversize but should be fine once the new bracket and new rivets are set. I will look at my rivet technique onece I get the new bracket and look at a better way to hold the assembly so I can concentrate on the rivet squeezer. Made a few test rivets with scrap material and the ATS pneumtic squeezer. It made perfect shop heads each time but it will not fit to do the brackets. Hopefully I can use it for the rudder horn.
