Brief Description:  Riveting nutplates to vertical rear spar

Riveted nutplates K1000-3 to the rear spar and the VS-1212B - R&L per step 6 page 06-04. I used my hand squeezer for this operation. I had practiced with some flush rivets on some sample material previously. I had more difficulty getting the tool positioned and holding the nutplate( partly clecoed) than I expected. I had one rivet that ended up slightly above flush on the front side so I decided to remove it. Used the rivet removal tool I had (incorrectly I think) on the back side of the rivet. Removed the head and the rivet was pushed out. Put a new rivet in and redid it. It came out better but just slightly high from flush. I'm probably being too particular. I put the hinge assembly in place and it fits nice and flat so everything looks OK. I'm not sure what the trick is to make sure that the flush head stays flush during the squeezing process. Looks like I need to practice more and see if it makes a difference which side of the squeezer goes against the flush head.
