Brief Description: Drilling of Rear Spar Stiffeners
Competed step 5 VS-121A-R, VS-1212B-R. Competed steps 1-5 for VS-1212A-L and VS-1212B-L. Got lots of practice using Clecos and drilling and deburring holes. Probably went slower than I would have had to but wanted to get the hang of things since I am a first time builder. I am sure glad I invested in a good Sioux drill. It works extremely well and has a good fit in my hand for control. I experimented with several different methods of whole deburring and ended up with using a countersink bit in a small battery powered screw driver. With a light touch and slow revolutions it does a nice job of removing the edge burrs from the holes without countersinking them. Spent time working the parts with the 6 inch Scotchbrite wheel that I got from Vans - it works well to smooth edges. I have it mounted in a polisher I had previously bought from Harbor Freight. I'm thinking about getting a second wheel and mounting it in my floor mounted drill press so I have one in the horizontal orientation as well
