Brief Description: Trimming, Fluting and Deburring of Vert Stab Ribs
Riveted VS-1212 B-R&L per step 5 page 06-04. ATS pneumatic pop rivet gun worked great. Used the wedges for the rivets close to the flange. Competed steps 1 and 2 page 06-05 putting radius on the front edge of the ribs specified. Fluted VS-1205, VS-1206 and VS-1202 to straighten and align the holes. Deburred the holes and smoothed all the edges. Deburred VS=1207 and VS-1208. Primed all the vertical stab ribs. Worked to rearrange the work area to get ready for assembly of the VS skeleton - reoriented one work table so I have access to the full 5 ft. length versus working at one end as I had been doing to this point. I had covered the plywood table top with felt to protect the parts from scratching. Initially this worked well until I found out that all of the drill filling stick to the felt and are difficult or should I say impossible to remove. Felt is good for protection but not for where you have drilling residue. I have ordered some smooth rubber that I think will work better and be easy to cleanup .
